This is a great recipe to stuff in the neck cavity of your Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, while using a traditional bread stuffing in the main cavity. The lemon and sausage are a wonderful combination. The best part is the richness, flavor and color that it adds to the gravy. Ingredients:
2 lbs ground sausage |
1 teaspoon thyme |
1 teaspoon ground sage |
1 1/2 tablespoons grated fresh lemon rind |
1/4 cup breadcrumbs, fine |
2 tablespoons chicken or 2 tablespoons turkey broth |
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together and stuff! |
