Perfect Lemonade that has strong lemon flavor balanced with a subtle sweetness! We usually double to make 1 gallon for selling purposes. Bottled lemon juice will work. The amount of water will depend on your taste - start with the 5 1/2 cups then add more till it suits your taste. Time depends on if you are squeezing fresh lemons or using bottled juice. Some suggest creating a syrup first by boiling 2 cups of the water with the 1 cup sugar so that it dissolves better then pouring the mixture into the rest of the cold water. It takes 1 bag or about 8 medium sized lemons to get the 1 1/2 cups lemon juice. We also use a 2 quart mixer pitcher. We also keep extra ice in a cooler to put in the glass before giving to our customers. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups lemon juice |
1 cup sugar |
5 1/2-6 1/2 cups cold water |
2 cups ice |
1 lemon |
Directions:
1. Mix together lemon juice, sugar, water, and ice. 2. Slice lemon into coins and cut coins in half. 3. Serve in 8 oz cups with additional ice and 1 half lemon coin. |
