This is a very nice lemon cookie. I made a bunch of these today to take to the office tomorrow and my house smells so good. I got this recipe from a friend who brings these every year to my cookie exchange. They are always a big hit. Read more . Enjoy Ingredients:
1-1/2 teaspoons vinegar |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 teaspoon lemon peel shredded |
1/2 cup butter |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1-3/4 cups all purpose flour sifted |
lemon glaze |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Stir vinegar into milk. 2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy then beat in egg and peel. 3. Sift together dry ingredients then add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. 4. Beat well after each addition. 5. Drop from teaspoon 2 apart onto ungreased cookie sheet then bake at 350 for 14 minute. 6. Combine sugar and lemon juice to make glaze. 7. Remove cookies from oven and brush with glaze while warm. |
