Here is a recipe from my grandmothers cookbook (1930's). Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
2 cups flour |
1 pinch salt |
4 eggs, beaten |
6 tablespoons lemon juice |
2 cups sugar |
fresh lemon rind, grated |
6 tablespoons flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven and lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch pan. 2. Mix together butter, powdered sugar, 2 cups flour and salt. 3. Pour into prepared pan. 4. Bake for 20 minutes. 5. Mix together eggs, lemon juice, sugar, lemon rind and 6 Tbsp flour and pour over the first part. 6. Bake for 25 additional minutes. |
