No poppy seeds here - I added hemp hearts and chia seeds to this mix instead! Nice for summer, but good for anytime. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 tsp lemon extract |
1 tsp lemon zest |
1 cup flour |
1/4 tsp baking soda |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 tbsp hemp hearts |
1 tbsp chia seeds |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F, and line a cookie sheet. 2. Cream together shortening and sugar. 3. Beat in egg, extract and zest. 4. Gently stir in the dry ingredients. 5. Drop 2 apart. 6. Bake 10 minutes. 7. Cool 5 minutes on sheets before removing to a wire rack. |
