From Betty Crocker's New Eat and Lose Weight Cookbook. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon poppy seed |
1/3 cup butter |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
3/4 cup milk |

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. 2. Grease cookie sheet. 3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and poppy seed in a large bowl. 4. Cut in butter until mixture is fine crumbs. 5. Mix lemon juice and milk, stir into flour mixture until dough forms a ball. 6. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, gently roll in flour to coat. 7. Knead lightly 10 times. 8. Roll or pat into a 9in circle. Sprinkle with sugar. 9. Cut into 8 wedges. 10. Place on cookie sheet. 11. Bake 12-15 mins or until golden brown. 12. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. |
