This is a beautiful delicious summer dessert... Your company will be amazed how elegant it looks. This is well worth the effort it takes. Use a tall slender glass pestal to display these in. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/2 cup sugar |
dash of salt |
1 1/4 cups milk |
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 teaspoon lemon zest |
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice |
2 drops yellow food coloring |
mixed fresh fruit |
vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan; blend in milk. 2. Bring to a boil, stiring constantly; cook and stir 2 minutes. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into egg yolk; stir egg yolk into got mixture; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. 5. Add butter, zest and lemon juice; stir until butter is melted. 6. Stir in food coloring. 7. Chill throughly. 8. Arrange layers of fruit in glass; spoon on lemon sauce. 9. Place ice cream on top of sauce. 10. Repeat layers ending in ice cream on top. 11. You can use. strawberries, grapes, kiwi. etc.... |
