1/2 cup sugar |
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch |
dash of salt |
1/2 cup cold water |
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind |
1 1/2 teaspoons butter or margarine |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan, stirring well. Add water, egg yolk, and lemon juice; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat stir in lemon rind and butter. |
