This is a flavorful lemon cream sauce with great lemon and onion flavors that's not too heavy. Great for the whole family - even my teenage daughter and her friends all like it! Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter |
2 cups heavy cream |
2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarians) |
1 lemon, zested and juiced |
3 large shallots |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
fresh parsley, for garnishing |
Directions:
1. Mince shallots. Melt butter in pan, then sautee shallots over medium heat until translucent, but not browned. About 2 minutes. 2. Pour in chicken broth, simmer over medium-low heat until reduced to about half a cup. About 10-15 minutes. 3. Pour in heavy cream, simmer over medium-low heat until sauce thickens. About 10 minutes. 4. Mix in lemon juice and lemon zest. |
