A new take on sugar cookies Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 large lemons, zested |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature |
1 large egg |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/2 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F 2. Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside. 3. Beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. 4. Add lemon zest, egg, vanilla and lemon juice. Mix until combined. 5. Slowly blend in the dry ingredients. 6. Form into one tablespoon balls and roll in sugar. 7. Place dough balls onto cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. 8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are lightly golden brown. 9. Let cookies cool on cookie sheet before removing. |
