One of the best dishes Grandma Robert's ever set in front of us. Daddy's favorite of all time, except for her milk toast for hangovers. LOL Ingredients:
2 tbsp of softened butter |
1 1/2 cups of sugar |
1/3 cup of flour |
1/4 tsp of salt |
1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice |
1 tsp of lemon rind grated |
3 beaten egg yolks |
3 stiffly beaten egg whites |
hot water bath |
Directions:
1. Mix the butter and the sugar until light and creamy. 2. Add flour, salt, lemon juice and lemon peel. Mix well. 3. Stir in beaten egg yolks. 4. Fold in whites. 5. Pour into custard cups or a single dish and set in a pan of hot water to bake for 45 minutes in a 375 degree oven. 6. Dust with confectioner's sugar and grab a spoon. 7. do allow to cool slightly before eating and risking lip burn. |
