I love this recipe because it makes a great base for so many toppings. You could top it with fresh whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a nice lemon icing. Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup unsalted butter |
1/2 cup salted butter |
6 large eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon white vinegar |
3 tablespoons lemon zest |
1 lemon (juiced ) |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar very well. While continuing to mix, add one egg at a time, vanilla, vinegar and the juice of one lemon. Sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Fold dry ingredients into wet. After well blended and Lemon zest. 2. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan. bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 45 minute. |
