This is a great treat to serve for breakfast, brunch or as a delicious snack. You can also use small loaf pans, instead of one large one. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup white sugar |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
1/2 cup milk |
rind of one lemon |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and add sugar, a little at a time, until light and fluffy 2. Add beaten eggs and blend thoroughly 3. Combine dry ingredients and add to mix, alternating with milk. 4. Stir in rind and walnuts 5. Bake in a greased loaf pan 350 degrees for one hour. 6. Remove from the oven and pour the juice of one lemon mixed ith 1/4 cup of sugar, all over the loaf. Let stand one day for best flavor. |
