A light refreshing bread that goes well with a heavy meal. It's also great as a breakfast toast with berries or a dessert topped with lemon or lime sherbert or your favorite ice cream. From Imperial Sugar. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1-1/2 cups flour |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup imperial sugar extra fine granulated sugar or dixie crystals extra fine granulated sugar |
1 tsp. baking powder |
2 eggs |
grated rind of 2 lemons |
cream butter, sugar and eggs. add milk and stir in dry ingredients and rind. bake in loaf pan at 350ºf for forty-five minutes. |
