A light refreshing bread that goes well with a heavy meal. It's also great as a breakfast toast with berries or a dessert topped with lemon or lime sherbert or your favorite ice cream. From Imperial Sugar.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup imperial sugar extra fine granulated sugar or dixie crystals extra fine granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
grated rind of 2 lemons
cream butter, sugar and eggs. add milk and stir in dry ingredients and rind. bake in loaf pan at 350ºf for forty-five minutes.
Directions:
1. For Lemon Glaze For Lemon Bread:
2. 1 tsp. lemon juice
3. 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Powdered Sugar or Dixie Crystals Powdered Sugar
4. Mix the lemon juice and sugar and glaze the bread
