I seldom use a packaged mix for anything, but I didn't feel like cooking the day after Thanksgiving! My husband loved this, and it was so easy. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chicken bouillon |
1-1/2 cups uncooked rice |
1 or 2 packs turkey gravy mix (enough to make 2 cups gravy) |
1/8 tsp poultry seasoning (idea courtesy of oldgringo) |
black pepper to taste |
3 tablespoons unsalted butter |
leftover turkey to taste |
Directions:
1. Fill a 3qt. pot to 1-1/2 inches from top. Place on stove over high heat and add bouillon. 2. When water has begun boiling, stir in rice and cover tightly. Cook for 18-20 minutes. 3. Whisk gravy mix into 1-3/4 cups water. 4. Bring to a boil then lower heat to low. 5. Add seasonings and stir in butter until melted. 6. Chop turkey directly into gravy. Warm through. 7. Drain rice. 8. Serve gravy over rice. 9. Simple and easy! |
