Lee, a lady at church, is a wonderful cook. She's your typical grandma, fixing all sorts of wonderful stuff when we have eatin' meetin's. She hosted a birthday party for her daughter at church and her aunt fixed this with a buttered pecan cake. It FLEW out of the pan faster than the birthday cake (proof positive that nothing beats home cookin!). It's delicious on spice cake, apple cakes, and of course, a buttered pecan cake. Ingredients:
1/2 cup real butter |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Boil the butter, brown sugar, and cream, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. 2. When mix is just warm to touch, add vanilla and powdered sugar. 3. Beat until smooth and spread on the cake. |
