Leek and Shallot Rice

This is my husband's recipe. You can use any seasoning you want for this dish.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown rice
3 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon oil
1 shallot, diced
4 garlic cloves, diced
1 leek, diced
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon seasoning
Directions:
1. Bring water, oil, and rice to a boil and then reduce to simmer. Simmer for 40 minutes or until done.
2. After rice is cooked melt butter in a skillet and saute leek, shallot, and garlic for about 5 minutes or until tender.
3. Add rice and seasoning to butter and saute for 4-5 minutes stirring to prevent rice from burning.
