an old fashioned cake with chewy coconut and a caramel frosting!!! Ingredients:
4 eggs |
2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter |
frosting |
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar |
3/4 cup butter melted |
1/2 cup half and half cream |
2 cups coconut |
Directions:
1. In mixing bowl, mix eggs, sugar and vanilla until thick,( about 4 minutes) 2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, add to egg mixture and beat until combined. 3. In saucepan bring milk and butter to a boil, stirring constantly. 4. Add to batter and beat until combined. 5. Pour into greased 13 x9 x2 inch pan 6. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, or until cake done. 7. Combine frosting ingredients and spread over warm cake. Broi until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes 8. ENJOY!!!! |
