This is one of the first meals I made when I started out cooking for my husband. I was lucky to come across this recipe for meatloaf in a church cookbook because it is one of our favorites even today. I have tried other meatloafs but none of them taste like this one... Ingredients:
1 cup oatmeal |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/4 teaspoon mustard |
1/2 cup minced onion |
1/2 cup milk |
2 lbs hamburger |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt (i like to use garlic salt) |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons mustard |
1/2 cup ketchup |
Directions:
1. Combine eggs, oatmeal, milk, worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, pepper, mustard, onion. Mix with hamburger. Pat into loaf pan. Bake 350 for one hour. Combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Spread over meatloaf. Bake 20-25 minutes longer. |
