Like those boxed kits they sell ready to go. Throw together in 5 minutes and toss in the oven. Not nearly as good as real homemade lasagna, but a decent meal in its own right. You could easily toss some precooked ground beef into it, or use a hearty leftover homemade pasta sauce. I think it would be good to keep the ingredients on hand 'just in case.' Add a canned vegetable as the side, and you have a complete meal with the only perishable item being the cheese. Ingredients:
1 (26 ounce) can pasta sauce with meat |
2 1/2 cups egg noodles (or bow tie pasta) |
1/2 cup water |
1 cup shredded cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425*. Grease an 8x8 pan. 2. Pour sauce and water into the pan. Stir noodles into the mixture. Cover, bake for 35-40 minutes. 3. Check noodles to see if they're done. (If not, bake an additional 5-10 minutes.) Sprinkle cheese over the top and place back in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts. 4. -OR- 5. To make it in a dutch oven, or large skillet, add an additional 1/4 cup of water. Bring pasta and sauce with noodles to a boil, and simmer covered 15 minutes or until pasta is done. Stir well, and sprinkle with cheese. Cover a few minutes to allow cheese to melt before serving. |
