homemade lasagna without all the extra sodium Ingredients:
16 ounces extra lean ground beef |
3 tbsp garlic, minced |
1 cup onion, diced |
28 ounces canned ground tomatoes, no salt |
1 tbsp oregano |
1 tbsp basil |
1/4 cup parsley |
8 ounces part skim mozzarella cheese |
8 ounces light ricotta cheese |
10 ounces pasta |
Directions:
1. 10 oz pasta equals 12 lasagna noodles...cook in boiling water until tender, drain and cool 2. cook ground beef with garlic and onion....drain any fat that may accumulate 3. mix ground beef mixture with dried herbs, Ricotta and 3/4 of tomatoes 4. spray baking dish with Pam...put some tomato sauce on the bottom...begin building...noodles, beef mixture, 1/3 Mozzarella cheese, noodles, beef mixture, 1/3 Mozzarella cheese, noodles, 1/3 Mozzarella cheese, rest of tomato sauce 5. cover with foil and bake in 350 oven for 35-40 minutes...remove foil for last 10 minutes being careful to watch that top does not burn |
