From the southern Caribbean island of Bonaire. We lived there for 7 years and had lamunchi trees in a couple of our backyards. (We moved twice while on the island). A lamunchi is a cross between a lemon and a lime. I doubt if you'll find lamunchis in your local market, but lemons should do the trick for this refreshing drink! Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups sugar |
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lamunchi or 1/2 cup lemon juice |
1 gallon cold water |
Directions:
1. Combine and stir until sugar is dissolved. 2. Serve cold. 3. Garnish with lemon or lime slices and sprigs of mint for a festive touch, if desired. |
