This is a cake my grandmother, Lee Strength, made for me every time I'd visit. Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine (softened) |
1 cup sugar |
4 eggs |
1 cup self-rising flour |
1 (16 ounce) can hersheys chocolate syrup |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup margarine |
1/3 cup evaporated milk |
1/2 cup chocolate chips |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Mix well first 6 ingredients. 2. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes. 3. Icing:. 4. Bring to boil 1 cup sugar, 1 stick margarine and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Boil 1 minute. Add chocolate chips and pecans and pour over warm cake. |
