Much nicer than store bought. Ingredients:
11/2c all purpose flour |
6 eggs, separated |
6t sugar |
1tsp vanilla |
pinch of cream of tartar |
3/4c sugar |
icing sugar for dusting |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Beat the egg yolks, 6T sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until pale yellow and thick. 2. In a seperate bowl beat the egg whites and cream of tarter to soft peaks, slowly add 3/4c of sugar and beat until stiff but not dry. 3. Fold together the egg yolks, egg whites and flour. Add 1/3 of the egg whites to the yolks, sift 1/3 of the flour over top and gently fold in. Repeat. 4. Pipe mixture onto parchment lined trays with a round tube leaving some space between as they spread. Sift a slight dusting of icing sugar overtop ladyfingers. 5. Bake about 12 to 15 minutes until lightly browned around edges. |
