My grandma used to make these with my sister and I all the time. As kids it would be great fun kneading the dough together: we'd take it in turns. A simple yet delicious butter biscuit, popular with all ages, and perfect for any occasion! They'll keep for a long time but are best fresh and warm out of the oven. They probably won't last too long anyway! Ingredients:
200 g plain flour |
200 g butter |
70 g custard powder |
70 g icing sugar |
1 tablespoon vanilla essence |
Directions:
1. Knead all ingredients together with one hand, until dough is completely smooth and even. 2. Roll into teaspoon-sized balls and lay out on a baking tray, before pressing down from the top on each biscuit with a fork. 3. Cook in a moderate over for 15-20 minutes, until golden on top. |
