This recipe is for a Lithuanian potato dish Ingredients:
1/2 lb bacon, diced |
9 large white potatoes, grated |
2 tablespoons flour |
6 eggs, beaten |
1/2 cup milk |
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk |
1 large white onion, grated |
1 teaspoon salt |
sour cream |
Directions:
1. Fry bacon until medium crisp. 2. Set aside, reserving drippings. 3. Grate potatoes into a bowl. 4. Put in a colander and let drain. 5. Put potatoes back into a bowl. 6. Add flour and eggs. 7. Stir. 8. Add milk, evaporated milk, grated onion and salt. 9. Stir in bacon. 10. Grease a rectangular baking pan with reserved bacon drippings. 11. Pour potato mixture into pan. 12. Bake at 350 degrees F. 13. for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until toasty brown on top but not burned. 14. Serve with sour cream. |
