This is a Polish version of a recipe made by many different cultures. Similar in appearance, but slightly different ingredients. Nevertheless...they are fried!! Ingredients:
12 egg yolks |
1 tbsp. melted butter |
1 c. sour cream |
1 shot glass (or a bit more) of whiskey |
2 lbs of flour |
1 tbsp. confectioners' sugar |
canola oil for frying |
confectioners' sugar for dusting |
Directions:
1. Beat eggs with all ingredients, except flour. 2. Then, add flour slowly enough to produce a noodle like dough. You will need about 2 lbs. of flour for this. 3. Roll dough out thinly on floured surface. 4. Cut into rectangles. 5. Cut a slit in center of each rectangle. 6. Pull one corner through slit to make bow ties. 7. Fry in hot oil until lightly golden. 8. Drain, cool, then sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. |
