Christmas is coming,time for :Cookies,Cakes,and Candy. Ingredients:

10 cups flour |
10 teaspoons baking powder |
2 cups sugar |
1 tablespoons salt |
6 fresh farm eggs |
1 pound butter |
1 cup milk |
2 tablespoons vanilla |
filling |
2 boxes raisins |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 pound dates,chopped |
1 cup favorite jam |
1 teaspoon lemon peel ,chopped |
1 pound mixed nuts,chopped |
1 cup good honey |
put the raisins in bowl,cover with boiling water,let stand until cool. |
drain and put raisins in saucepan,add cinnamon,dates,jam,honey and peels. |
let simmer for 30 minutes,cool and add nuts. |
Directions:
1. Cookie: 2. In bowl,sift flour,baking powder sugar salt. 3. Work in butter as if you are making a pie crust. 4. Add eggs,milk,vanilla. 5. Break off pieces of dough about the size of a Walnut. 6. Roll out on floured board. 7. Place a tablespoon of filling in center and fold pastry over so as to form a roll,pinch edges together,moist the edges with a little water to make sure there is a good seal before folding the pastry over. 8. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. 9. Glaze with a confectioners' sugar icing,while still warm. |
