My mom started making this recipe when I was little. She made is for special occasions, such as Christmas or birthdays. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. Ingredients:
1/2 cup oleo |
1 cup flour |
2 tablespoons water |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup oleo |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
1 cup flour |
3 eggs |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
milk, to make a thick drizzle |
walnuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Cut oleo into flour, add water to make crust. 2. Divide into 2 (9x4) pieces on a large cookie sheet. 3. Bring water and oleo to a boil, remove from heat, add flavoring. 4. Add flour and mix quickly. 5. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition. 6. Divide and spread over crust. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. 8. Drizzle with glaze. 9. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if desired. 10. Cool completely. |
