I love to give quick breads as gifts for the holidays and this one contains a lovely surprise!! Ingredients:
1 butter, pat of |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 cup milk |
3 cups flour (all purpose) |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1/2 cup unsalted sunflower seed kernels |
1 1/2 cups pumpkin (canned) |
1/2 cup cranberries (dried) |
1/2 cup vanilla baking chips (white) |
1/2 cup colored sprinkles (rainbow) |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Use pat of butter to grease a 9 x 9 square baking dish. 3. Mix the sugar, milk, flour, egg, baking soda, vanilla extract, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, sunflower kernels, pumpkin, cranberries, and vanilla chips together in a bowl. 4. Pour mixture into greased baking dish. 5. Gently sprinkle sprinkles on top of dough mixture. 6. Bake quick bread for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. 7.
