Absolutely delicious banana bread!!! You can omit the salt if desired and it still tastes delicious! Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup vegetable shortening |
2 cups sugar |
2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 6) |
4 eggs, slightly beaten |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Toss together flour and baking soda. 2. Add shortening, sugar, and salt. 3. Add bananas, eggs and walnuts. 4. Grease and flour 2 bread pans. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 70 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool in pan for 5 minutes, them turn out onto a rack to cool completely. |
