This is a rich, coffee-flavored mousse that is the perfect dessert for almost any meal. The original recipe created by Irene Croft won First Place at the 1984 Kona Coffee Festival in Hawall. Ingredients:
12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips |
2 large eggs |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 1/2 cups whole milk |
2 tbs. instant kona coffee granules |
1/2 cup of irish cream liqueur or coffee-flavored liqueur |
Directions:
1. Place the first three ingredients into a blender container. 2. Scald the milk over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. 3. Remove from heat and add liqueur and coffee granules until dissolved. 4. Add the hot liquid to the blender container and blend on high for 5 to 8 seconds. 5. Pour the mixture into individual cups and chill until firm. 6. Garnish with whipped cream (and shaved chocolate). |
