Another of my kofta recipes, this one is eaten as a starter. Only a few steps to produce an authentic recipe. Although I have given the recipe as a lamb dish you could use beef. Ingredients:
1 lb ground lamb |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
2 tablespoons grated garlic |
3 fresh green chilies |
1 small onion, chopped |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric |
1 teaspoon garam masala |
2 ounces fresh coriander leaves, chopped |
6 mint leaves, chopped |
1 medium potato, grated |
oil (for deep frying) |
Directions:
1. Place all of the ingredients EXCEPT FOR THE OIL, in a large bowl and mix to a dough. 2. Divide the mixture and form into balls the size of golf balls. 3. In a deep pan heat the oil and fry the balls till golden. 4. Drain on kitchen paper and serve them hot. |
