A sweet treat from Ingredients:
1 pkg german chocolate cake mix |
1 cup chopped pecans |
1/3 cup plus 1/2 cup evaporated milk, divided |
3/4 cup butter, melted |
60 vanilla caramels, unwrapped (14 oz pkg.) |
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels |
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter 2. Press half of the batter into the bottom of a greased 13z9x2 inchglass baking dish 3. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 8 minutes 4. Melt the caramels with remaining 1/2 cup evaporated milk in the microwave or a double boiler 5. When caramel mixture is well mixed, pour over baked layer 6. Cover with chocolate morsels 7. Spread remaining batter on top of morsels 8. Return to 350 degree oven and bake 18 minutes 9. Let cool before cutting into squares 10. Makes 16-20 |
