KING OF THE JUNGLE SPICED PEARS WITH HONEY CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Patrick Estate in Canton, Texas in 1981. Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups half and half |
3 tablespoons buttermilk |
3 tablespoons honey |
2 pounds ripe pears halved deseeded and cut into 3/4 thick wedges |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Whisk half and half, buttermilk and honey together in glass bowl. 2. Let stand uncovered in warm place at least 6 hours but preferably overnight. 3. Refrigerate until ready to serve. 4. Heat large skillet over medium high heat. 5. Add pears and sugar then stir until sugar dissolves about 8 minutes. 6. Sprinkle cinnamon over pears then spoon into bowl and pour honey cream over top. |
