this calorie rich noodle kugel may also serve as a dessert instead of a side dish. Best served when warm from the oven but also great cold. Ingredients:
1/2 lb medium wide noodles |
1 lb cream cheese |
1 pint sour cream |
1/2 lb butter unsalted |
1 cup sugar |
1 tsp vanilla |
8 eggs |
1 sm can mandarin oranges drained |
1 sma can crushed pineapple drained |
4 oz walnuts chopped |
1/3 cup sugar |
1 tsp cinnamon |
2 tbs butter |
Directions:
1. Cook noodles and drain. 2. place in a large bowl 3. Blend butter and cram cheese smooth 4. Add sour cream and vanilla 5. Add eggs and blend smooth 6. Fold mixture with the noodles. 7. Combine the drained fruits and place in a buttered 9 x 13 pan. 8. Top with the noodle mixture 9. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight 10. When ready to bake, remove plastic and bake at 350 for 50 minutes 11. Combine the nuts and sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the top 12. Dot with remaining butter 13. Continue to bake about 15 to 20 minutes more |
