New twist on kielbasa. These cute sandwiches are a treat for any occasion. Ingredients:
1/2 lb fully cooked kielbasa or 1/2 lb polish sausage, chopped |
1 small onion, chopped |
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine |
1/3 cup barbecue sauce |
2 (8 ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent dinner rolls |
4 slices american cheese, halved |
1 egg white (optional) |
1 tablespoon water (optional) |
sesame seeds (optional) |
Directions:
1. In large skillet, cook sausage for 5-8 minutes; drain. 2. Add onion, green pepper, garlic, and butter; cook until tender. 3. Stir in barbecue sauce; heated through. 4. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into 8 rectangles; seal perforations. 5. Place a cheese slice on half of each rectangle; top with 2 tablespoons of kielbasa mixture. 6. Fold dough over filling and pinch edges to seal; fold seam under. 7. If using sesame seeds, beat the egg white and water and brush over the dough; sprinkle with sesame seeds. 8. Place seam side down on greased baking sheets. 9. Bake at 350* for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. |
