This is the meatloaf that my mother made. It is the only meatloaf I have ever liked. This recipe is so popular with my family that I always have to make two of them, and we still on't ever have any leftovers. If you are lucky enough to have any leftovers, this makes a delicious sandwich filling. Ingredients:
2/3 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 tablespoon instant minced onion |
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon sage |
3 tablespoons brown sugar |
1/3 cup catsup |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix bread crumbs, milk, eggs and minced dried onions together in a large bowl. 3. Add meat, salt, pepper, and sage to bread mixture and mix well. 4. Shape meat into a loaf and place into a loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. 5. Mix brown sugar, catsup, nutmeg and dry mustard together, and pour over meatloaf. 6. Bake for 1 hour. |
