Easy, hearty, stick-to-your ribs dinner. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can cajun-style stewed tomatoes |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons chili powder |
1 bay leaf |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt |
1/2 teaspoon oregano |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
2 cups cooked long grain rice |
Directions:
1. In a skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic until meat is browned; drain. 2. Stir in the beans, tomatoes, and seasonings. 3. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. 4. Add rice; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated. 5. Discard bay leaf. 6. Serve. |
