My nephew won't eat anything with onions (or any other veggies) in it, so I had to create something new, fast, and that he would be familiar with. I came up with this. Now, everytime I baby sit for him, we make it together. There is onion powder in this meatloaf, but don't tell my nephew!! Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats |
2 teaspoons onion powder |
2 teaspoons garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley |
1/2 teaspoon dried basil |
1/2 teaspoon celery salt |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 cup rolled oats |
2 eggs, beaten |
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
2 1/2 tablespoons butter or 2 1/2 tablespoons margarine |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350. 2. Blend all spice ingredients together in a small bowl. 3. Mix ground beef with the rolled oats in a larger bowl. 4. Mix beaten eggs and worcestershire sauce with the meat mixture. 5. Mix the spice mixture with the meat mixture and blend well. 6. Form meat mixture into a loaf. 7. Place meat loaf on tin foil in a roasting pan. 8. Spread the butter on the top and sides of the meat loaf with a knife or spatula. 9. Bake at 350 for one hour and 15 munutes. |
