I saw this in a magazine, it is wonderful Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter, softened |
2 cups sugar |
4 eggs |
2 tbsp grated lime peel |
1 tsp vanilla |
3 cups flour |
3 tsp baking powder |
1 tsp salt |
1 cup milk |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
glaze |
2/3 cup powdered sugar |
1 to 2 tbsp key lime juice |
Directions:
1. in a large mixing bnowl, creambutter and sugar. add eggs; mix well. Add lime peel, juice and vanilla; mix until combined. 2. combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixure alternately with milk. 3. Fold in walnuts. 4. Transfer to two greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pans. 5. bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out cdlean. 6. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. 7. Combine glaze ingredients; drizzle over warm bread. 8. Cool completely. |
