This is Indonesian Salad. It's different because it uses peanut sauce for the dressing. It's truly a taste of Indonesia. We usually eat it as entree but I skipped the sticky rice and make it as appetizer. Ingredients:
ingredients |
sauce |
100 gram roasted peanuts |
50 gram roasted chasew |
10 gram cayene peppers |
10 gram hot red peppers |
(less peppers for milder sauce) |
3 cloves garlic |
15 gram palm sugar or brown sugar |
water as needed |
sweet soy sauce as needed |
a dash of lime juice |
peanut oil (optional) |
salad |
firm tofu, cut into small cubes, fried |
bean sprouts |
rice noodles, boiled |
tapioca/ shrimp crackers |
Directions:
1. 1. Blend the peanut, chasew, peppers, garlic in the blender. Put water as needed. Another option is You could fry the (blended) peanut and chasew first in a little bit of peanut oil to get more flavour. 2. 2. Add the palm sugar, soy sauce and a dash of lime juice to the peanut sauce. 3. 3. Serve the noodle, tofu, bean sprouts and crackers on a plate and pour the peanut sauce on top. |
