Comfort food Ingredients:
3 slices bread, torn into bite size pieces |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup cooked rice |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup applesauce |
3 eggs, beaten |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1/4 cup oil |
1 tablespoon margarine, softened |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Pie: Place bread in mixing bowl. 3. add milk. 4. Add rice, mix well by hand. 5. Add sugar, applesauce, eggs& vanilla, mixing well each ingredient. 6. Add oil, reserving enough to grease pie pan. 7. Beat by hand for 1 minute. 8. Pour mixture into greased 9 pie pan. 9. Bake for 40 minutes. 10. Glaze: cream together ingredients. 11. Remove the pie from the oven, spread with glaze and return to oven for 5 minutes more. |
