When I first started baking on my own (my mother isn't much of a baker) one thing I decided I had to know how to make was banana bread because we forever had bananas sitting around after the point that my husband would still eat them. I found a recipe in my church cookbook but didn't like how it turned out. This recipe is my adaptation of that recipe. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 bananas (brown or not) |
1 egg (well beaten) |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup whole milk |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 cup nuts (chopped) (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease loaf pan. 3. Cream butter and sugar together. 4. Add all other ingredients to butter/sugar mixture except bananas. 5. Mash bananas and add in last. 6. Blend all ingredients together. Batter will be chunky. 7. Bake 1 hour. 8. Cool before removing from pan. |
