Keftes is a meat ball, change the gound meat with lentils. Ingredients:
250 gr red lentils. |
2 big onions chopped. |
5 cloves garlic chopped. |
2 ts ginger shredded. |
120 gr parsley chopped. |
1 tbs celery leaves chopped. |
1 tbs tomato paste. |
1 ts ground cumin. |
1/4 ts currey. |
1/4 ts cayenne pepper. |
120 gr flour. |
1 ts baking powder. |
2 tbs cous-cous |
5 tbs olive oil. |
salt and pepper to taste. |
Directions:
1. Soak lentils min. 8 hours or over night in luke warm water. 2. Cook lentils 30 min in the pressure cooker and let cool down. 3. Put garlic, onions, ginger, parsley, celery, cous-cous and lentils + 2 tbs water in the blender and beat for 1 min, add tomato paste , spices, baking powder flour, salt and pepper to taste and beat for another 30 sec. 4. Place round keftes (balls) and bake in hot oil 4-5 min till browned on all sides, drain on kitchen paper and serve warm or at room temperature. |
