My mom has made this for years and is a family favourite. We use it in salads and in sandwiches. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
2/3 cup sugar |
4 tablespoons flour |
2 teaspoons dry mustard |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 dash red pepper sauce (optional) |
1/2 cup white vinegar (or cider) |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. In a sauce pan, beat the eggs. 2. Add the other ingredients except water, whisk well to mix. 3. Heat slowly over medium heat til starting to thicken. 4. Add water, keep whisking and heat to desired thickness. |
