These are great little desserts for people who can't eat wheat, sugar, and milk products. The recipe comes from my friend Katy. Ingredients:
2 cups unsweetened coconut |
2 tablespoons carob powder or 2 tablespoons cocoa powder |
2 egg whites |
1/4 cup maple syrup or 1/4 cup agave nectar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Mix the dry ingredients together. That's the coconut and carob/cocoa powder. 3. Whip the egg whites until stiff. 4. Mix all the ingredients together. 5. Spoon out tablespoon sized balls onto a greased baking sheet. 6. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until the macaroons are firm and the outside but still give when pressed. |
