Katie's Super Turkey Sausage Soup

I concocted this on a cold, rainy Sunday and the family loved it! You can take liberty with the type of beans you add...whatever is in the cabinet. We like it spicy, but you can use the milder tomatoes with green chilies if you don't like so much heat. I also keep a bag of frozen chopped onions and peppers so putting this together takes about 10 minutes! We are always watching our calories around here, and this is also low-cal and low fat!
Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans (drained and rinsed)
1 (10 ounce) can tomatoes and green chilies
1 (15 ounce) can chicken broth
1 (15 ounce) can chili
1 small onion (chopped)
1 small green pepper (chopped)
1 lb turkey sausage
Directions:
1. In a skillet, brown turkey sausage. Add onion and green pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
2. Drain and rinse beans. Add all ingredients to large soup pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Soup will thicken the longer it simmers.
