Orange peel gives an extra boost of flavor to this cinnamon-sugar mixture from Katie Koziolek of Hartland, Minnesota. It's so simple for youngsters to mix up, she remarks. I use it when making cinnamon toast, French toast, cinnamon rolls, applesauce and peach or apple pies. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon |
1-1/4 teaspoons dried orange peel |
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients; store in a shaker jar. Sprinkle on toast, French toast or applesauce, or use as you would plain cinnamon-sugar. Yield: 2 cups. |
