This is a wonderfully sweet and comforting dish to pair with pork or chicken. When I need some comfort food this does the trick. It is a recipe passed on to me from my mother, who received it from her friend Karen. It is a traditional Jewish dish that Karen's family enjoyed. Ingredients:
8 ounces wide egg noodles, cooked |
4 eggs, beaten |
1 cup sour cream |
1 lemon, juiced |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1/2 cup sugar |
10 ounces preserves- peaches or 10 ounces apricots |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. mix the eggs, sour cream, lemon juice, butter, and sugar together with a whisk. 3. fold in the warm noodles and pour 3/4 of the mixture into a 9x13 inch dish. 4. spread the preserves over the noodles and top with the remainder 1/4 of noodles. 5. sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 1 hour until a knife comes out clean when placed in the center. |
